Abbeys testimony

I had suffered with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for about 10 years but it had got far worse just in the last 2 to 3 years and I had to resign from work. I began married life unwell so my husband got off to a great start loving me through sickness without the health! Everything became exhausting: walking, talking, housework...I even had to be lifted out of bed in the mornings because my body just felt like lead the whole time. My memory and concentration were affected and it was often frustrating trying to explain things especially when I couldn't remember names of people I had known for ages and had literally spoken to minutes before! I also had to be put on a special diet because I became intolerant to certain foods like bread, pasta and white rice. I was also not allowed to eat red meat or desserts. Going out for dinner was a nightmare! I would also suffer from infections and viruses regularly because my system was so run down.

When we arrived in Poole, the church was getting ready to start a series of training courses called “Equipping the saints” based on scriptures 1 Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4. One of these was on evangelism, prayer and healing and we decided to get involved. During this course we were exposed to the teaching of the Spokane Healing Rooms led by Cal Pearce and this really challenged me. I’d had lots of prayer for healing and I believed that God had already healed me on the cross but I lacked consistency. We were also given a guide on how to pray for specific diseases and I was quite skeptical about this. However I decided to be open and read what it said about chronic fatigue syndrome and I was shocked because the profile was an almost exact description of me! I eventually went to a Christian friend at church and asked for prayer for some deeper stuff that I was struggling with and it was after this that my breakthrough came. The day after I felt different in my spirit though I couldn't pinpoint why or what it was that was different. Then I realised I didn’t have ME anymore. My body told me I did but my spirit told me something different. I started to take steps of faith. I ate pasta..and felt fine. I had bread...and felt fine. I also had more energy and could walk faster and a lot further. I was even able to go for a jog and not have any payback. I knew God had healed me! A few weeks later I went to see the ME consultant at Wareham hospital and was discharged!
Today I am back at work part time, as well as studying and being involved in church. Now when I think of Poole, I think of incidents in scripture where healings occurred near water like the pool at Bethesda in John 5 or in Kings where Naman was told to wash himself in the water. I believe that God wants to pour out His grace in Poole and that healings will be evidence of this.

Industrial injury

I suffered from sciatica as a result of an industrial injury for about three years. During that period I could hardly walk or bend over. In my desperation, I tried all kinds of medical and alternative treatments but none could help alleviate the pain and suffering I went through.
It was an all time low period in my life.

Newspaper report

Early in February 2003 my mother-in-law told me about an article that had appeared in the local newspaper, the Halifax Courier. It reported that a place called Healing Rooms had just opened in Halifax. She advised me to visit the Healing Rooms of Halifax, which I did the following Wednesday.

A sense of peace

I was met by a caring and sympathetic staff and I also felt a sense of peace around me. As the prayer team prayed for me I felt a warm glow all over me and sensed the healing hand of the Lord touch me.
That was the beginning of my life changing experience in Jesus.

Walking without pain

I went home and that evening as I sat in my armchair after tea, I sensed the voice of the Lord urging me to get up, bend and touch my toes something I could not do for almost three years. This happened for the second time. I obeyed and to my amazement I could bend over and also walk without any pain! My wife was a witness to my healing and could hardly believe what she saw that evening.

I give God the Glory

I had never prayed before but that night I poured out my heart to the Lord in prayer and thanked Him for healing me. I also had my best sleep that night. I received the Lord as my Savior after that life changing experience. I know He has better plans for my life and I give Him all the glory for healing me.

The Doctor's report

Because of my condition, my doctor had made an appointment for me to see a specialist at the local hospital. The appointment was not for a number of months and my healing had taken place during the waiting period. It was Thursday 24th July 2003, the day of my appointment with the specialist.
He gave me a thorough examination and tested my movement. His conclusion was very straightforward; there was nothing wrong with my back whatsoever. I was so pleased because what I already knew had been confirmed by someone who had not known what had happened to me.

A changed life

My wife has also made Jesus her Lord and Savior. We have attended a recent Alpha course to learn more about our new Christian life and were baptised on Sunday 6th July 2003. Recently, my mother-in-law also made Jesus her Lord and Savior. My life has dramatically changed for the good since being healed.
